Apart from marrying their human partners, people tend to marry inanimate objects such as the Eiffel Tower and Ferris Wheels. And now they’re marrying their own pets.
In the summer of 2012 a UK woman in her late 40s shocked the whole world when the word of her unusual new lifetime partner broke out. Amanda Rodgers from London, UK, found her dream lifetime partner 20 years after divorcing her ex-husband. Rodgers has had her terrier Sheba for many years and the dog has kept her happy and content. According to Rodgers’ own words, Sheba would comfort her and love her like no other creature on the planet. Since the dog apparently gave Rodgers all she wanted in a potential partner, she decided it was high time for another marriage. Rodgers proposed to Sheba and took her wagging tail for a “Yes”, so the two married in August 2012.
The newlyweds were surrounded by 200 guests in Croatia, where Rodgers gave a kiss to Sheba in order to seal the deal. The woman told the media that the wedding was never made legal, but it was symbolic to her and Sheba....
