"Ice Bucket Challenge"  is the most popular trend that has been brought up by Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). It may be warm in parts of the country, but some people aren’t soaking themselves in ice or cold water to cool down from elevated temperatures. A new phenomenon has hit the social media circuit called the “Ice Bucket Challenge.” The challenge involves people getting splash with buckets of ice water on video, posting that video to social media, then nominating three others to do the same, all in an effort to raise ALS awareness.  People can either accept the challenge or make a donation to an ALS Charity of their choice or do both, as per their will.

Beverly, Mass, resident Pete Frates, along with his family  helped to make the “Ice Bucket Challenge” go viral on the social sites Facebook and Twitter.  Frates, 29, has lived with ALS since 2012, and he has worked with The ALS Association’s Massachusetts Chapter.  A former Division one college athlete with Boston College Baseball, Frates tirelessly spreads awareness of Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

This viral sensation, which has used the hash tag Ice Bucket Challenge, has attracted thousands of followers, including Boston Bruins stars Brad Marchand and Torey Krug, who willingly dropped frozen ice on themselves and issued the challenge to others. This is a creative way to unfurl ALS awareness via social media and in communities nationwide, says the authorized. As per the expectation the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in spreading all over and is being very popular. All are actively showing their participation.

Physicist Stephen Hawking has become the latest celebrity to step in the ice bucket challenge craze  but delegated the soaking to his children. Mr Hawking who himself has Motor Neurone Disease  was nominated by fellow scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson earlier this week. He said he had  pneumonia last year so  it was not wise to accept the challenge personally, and instead enlisted the help of his children Lucy, 44, Timothy, 35, and Robert, 47. He is in support of the cause as he himself is one of the victim.
